Why are you running this event?

Street Eats has been put together by Lemongrass Productions (the event team behind Taste of Auckland, Winetopia and Restaurant Monrh). We pretty much live and breath food, drink and events. We reckoned while there is a growing number of food and drink festivals in summer, the winter is a bit sparse. But the collaborators in the city never stop. So running the Street Eats Winter Festival for Elemental AKL felt like a no brainer. We start with great ingredients: restaurant quality street food, delicious drinks, high-energy bands and DJs plus some talented performance artists. That's a recipe for a good time!

How much is a ticket and what does it get me?

Advance Prices: Fri/Sat Evenings $25, Sat Afternoon $15 (+ any applicable iTicket booking fees)

Door prices: Evenings $30, Sat Afternoon $20 (+ any applicable iTicket booking fees), kids under 12 free with a paying adult.

Your ticket gets you into this fun multi-level festival space (upstairs and downstairs at Shed 10). It's totally undercover, heated and ready for you! We've themed the spaces, there's loads of tables and seating and you'll spend your time choosing between the eateries and pop-up bars, soaking in the festival atmosphere. Upstairs is one big DJ Lounge with bars and restaurants throughout, downstairs you'll find the main stage. There are some great acts and this is a day/night out as much as it is a food and drink event. Check the entertainment schedule for the Twisted Mistress Aerial Acts too!

What does the food and drink cost?

Dishes are mostly priced $6 - $14. There's lots of "tasting sized" dishes so you can try a few during your time at the event - that's part of the fun! There's mexican, Hangi, Italian, hot dogs, Indian....

Drinks are priced $6 - $14 too. Many of the craft brewers are offering half serves as well as full pours so you can try more for your money.

You will need a glass for the occaision - Globelet recycled glasses are available for $3 and $2 is refundable when you return it or you can purchase a stemless wine glass (polymer) for $4 and take it home with you.

How do I pay for food and drink?

Street Eats uses AWOP electronic currency which means you'll get a wristband on the way in, load it up with money at the AWOP desk and  then you "tap and go" with your wristband for your time at Street Eats.

Can I get a refund on my unused AWOP credit?

Yes totally, either when the event finishes, or just after via the Awop website.

Are kids allowed?

Very welcome to Session 2: Saturday 11am - 4pm.  Kids under 12 go free with an adult to Session 2.

The evening "After Dark" sessions are strickly R20.

How do we get there and away?

Couldn't be easier - Shed 10 is on Queens Wharf, across the road from Queens Street and the Britomart Transport Centre. The same wharf as the ferry building. Train, Ferry, Bus, or use the Downtown Carpark. Getting away couldn't be easier either with the Elemental AKL - Auckland Transport Free Buses & Trains after 9pm!
